Nikno’s Top 5 For Pride

San Diego Pride is just days away so I put together a special Top 5 of inspirational, feel good music to get you ready for the weekend festivities. There are a lot of great events this weekend and I can’t wait to see all of you around town. I’m DJing for Popsicle Pride at 4th & B. This is going to be an exciting night and I’m playing until 5am! Also look for me on the Rich’s float in the parade.

1. I Gotta Feeling (David Guetta Remix)  -  Black Eyed Peas

Just in time for Pride, this mix pretty much sums up my feelings about Popsicle: “Tonight’s gonna be a good night, tonight’s gonna be a good, good night!” Turn it up and rock out!

2. Believe (Chris Moody Remix)  -  Ministers de la Funk feat. Jocelyn Brown

Huge remix by Chris Moody makes this one a barn burner. Inspirational and empowering lyrics with a great bass line make this one my Pride anthem.

3. Use Somebody (Chew Fu Festival Fix)  -  Kings of Leon

Get ready for goose bumps! If this song doesn’t make you want to fall in love, you might need some help. “You know that I could use somebody, someone like you, someone like you!

4. Hush Hush (Dave Aude Extended Mix)  -  Pussycat Dolls

“I Will Survive” was a big gay anthem in the ’70s and “Hush Hush” takes over where Gloria Gaynor left off. Nice little tribute to the disco era and another great remix by Dave Aude.

5. Wanna Be Happy (Thomas Gold Remix)  -  The Viron Ltd. feat. Max’C

Uplifting and euphoric just the way Nikno likes it. This song will take you to new heights and I can’t wait to play it at Popsicle.

Divas to the Dancefloor!

Saturday, July 11

Join us at Rich’s as we celebrate the 3 Year Anniversary of PIX Magazine and raise money for San Diego Pride. There will be a hosted bar by Absolut Vodka from 9:30 to 10:30pm and the theme for the night is Divas. Get your photo taken on the red carpet as you enter the club and enjoy a special night of diva anthems by DJ Nikno. We’re encouraging everyone to dress up as your favorite diva. You’ll hear a night of Madonna, Britney, Janet, Mariah, Whitney, GaGa, Christina, Cher, and more. This is a fundraiser for San Diego Pride and a portion of the door proceeds will be donated to Pride. We’re also doing a ticket give-away on this night for the Official Circuit Parties of San Diego Pride. We’ll be hiding 10 tickets to Bootcamp, Popsicle Pride and Salvation in the new issue of PIX magazine. Just pick up a copy of PIX at Rich’s on the way out and you might find a free ticket inside! Evolution w/ DJ Dan De Leon

Friday, July 10

Evolution has grown into our most popular Friday party and it returns to Rich’s this Friday with DJ/Producer Dan De Leon from Los Angeles. Evolution is a circuit style night with hot new vocals and thundering tribal rhythms. Held on the second Friday of each month, Evolution has become a fun and popular destination for great dance music in San Diego. This month we have up and coming DJ Gary Iriza doing a special opening set from 9 to 11pm. Not only is Gary a talented DJ, he’s also International Mr. Leather 2008. Arrive early to hear his set. Doors open at 9pm this Friday.

Saturday, July 4th

There’ll be fireworks in the sky on Saturday followed by our own version of fireworks in the club as we debut our all new high powered laser system! The LED wall will be set up on stage and the new laser system will light up the sky over the dancefloor. DJ Nikno returns for an uplifting and euphoric set of dance music to keep the floor packed all night long. Early arrival is suggested on this night as it will be a capacity crowd for the holiday. Freedom Party

Every year we kick off 4th of July weekend with our huge Freedom Party. Since Friday is a holiday, this year’s Freedom Party falls on Thursday and we’ll be ready to party! DJ Nikno plays a special set of inspiring and high energy house music to get you moving and San Diego’s hottest hip hop DJ, Dirty Kurty, rocks the front room. The Freedom Party is always a busy night and we strongly recommend early arrival so you won’t be stuck in line while your friends are inside partying. Doors open early at 9:30pm. Lady GaGa Remixed

We’re going gaga over GaGa this Friday at Rich’s. It’s a special Lady GaGa night with remixed GaGa and pop music by DJ Nikno. DJ John Joseph will be playing Lady GaGa music videos in the front room. Special Lady GaGa performances by Alondra Garibay. There will also be a Lady GaGa look-alike contest with $100 cash & other prizes. Dress up is encouraged. It’s going to be a crazy night! Just Dance, Poker Face, Love Game, Starstruck, Paparazzi, Eh Eh, Summerboy, etc.

Bear ratchets up the heat this Saturday as the Big Muscle Tour arrives in San Diego. National DJ & Producer Bill Bennett, recently voted North America’s #1 Leather DJ by Instinct Magazine, comes to Rich’s to deliver a high energy set of dance music to keep the floor packed all night long.
